Canberra Potters Open Day 2017
5 November 2.00pm – 7.00pm
Canberra Potters at Watson Arts Centre threw open its doors and welcomed visitors for a day of ceramic arts activities and fun. It was an opportunity to find out what goes on in Canberra’s only ceramic focused Key Arts Organisation.
There was a full program of demonstrations, hands-on activities, a makers’ market and supplier stalls. Visitors had the opportunity to purchase our own delicious wood-fired pizza and sample craft beers from the Tumut Brewing Company.
It was a terrific day with plenty of participants having a go on the potters wheel, trying some hand-building, and Raku firing a pot to take home. The artist studios received lots of interested visitors as well.
The Makers Market in our gallery space featured a small selection of handmade ceramic and pottery ware created by some of our members.
Local award winning photographer Hilary Wardhaugh captured the day for us and below are some of her images.
