Living Treasures: Masters of Australian Craft 16th July to 22nd August 2010 Jeff Mincham is one of Australia’s most prominent and long-established ceramic artists. His work arises from, and is loaded with, his direct experiences within the landscape. The surfaces of his masterfully produced vessels reflect an ongoing passion with the South Australian countryside – dramatically expressed through bold graphic interpretation of the patterns and colours of the region. This major new body of work, specifically developed for this exhibition, showcases his ongoing research and experimentation with surface textures and firing techniques. The exhibition makes use of wall texts, video and photography to provide a view into the history, process, character and inspiration behind the work.
