'TRY IT OUT' SESSIONs 'Try it Out' sessions let you try different aspects of pottery - wheel-throwing, handbuilding or sculpture. If you're thinking about having a go at pottery but don't want to commit to a complete course then one or all of these sessions may be just what you need. It doesn't matter if you're completely new to pottery or already have some experience, 'Try it Out', will inform and excite you about the possibilities of clay. Go on - it's great fun. Invite your friends too!
PLEASE NOTE Not all sessions are offered every term - if no date is provided below then that session is not currently scheduled. However, please feel free to call or email to enquire about possible upcoming dates. 'Try it Out' sessions cost just $35 and run for three hours. (Prices include clay and gst)
Wheel-throwing   TRY1     Friday 6th August  6.30-9.30pm with Chris Harford If you're curious about the potters' wheel then this session is for you. We'll cover preparation of clay, centring the clay on the wheel and the basics of throwing cylinder and bowl forms.
Handbuilding   No session currently scheduled for term 3 An introduction to techniques such as coiling and slab-building to manipulate clay into free-form pieces using your hands.	Hot Tea by Jane Crick
Figurative Sculpture   No session currently scheduled for term 3 This session is for you if you're interested in exploring the figurative possibilities of clay. You'll learn how to construct a head using the coiling technique.
