   Leach Pottery Restoration Project

During his lifetime Bernard Leach became one of the most influential figures of the craft movement in the 20th century and his pottery in St Ives was the centre and symbol of this movement.

Twenty-five years after his death in 1979 the pottery is for sale and this heritage site of international importance is in danger of being lost.

A public appeal is soon to be launched to save the pottery and to regenerate it as a major training centre. For details of the project and progress on the appeal go to http://www.theleachpotterystives.co.uk/Index.htm.

http://www.leachpottery.com/English/pottery.htm# is the web site for the Leach Pottery as it exists now at St Ives in Cornwall. The site also contains some interesting links if you’re planning a visit to the area.

http://www.gaolyard-studio-pottery.co.uk/infogroup.asp?view=HOME is the site for St Ives Ceramics gallery, another good reason for visiting St Ives.
